Clarification About Taxi Ages

The Sharks organization has decided to implement the ACJFL rule regarding age/participation for the TAXI level. Only childeren in 1st and 2nd grade are eligible to participate at the Taxi level. This inlcudes 5, 6 and 7 year olds ... but Kindergarteners must wait another year yo play.

ACJFL League By-Law Changes
New Rules in Effect for the 2012 Season

As always, there are a few by-law changes that will take effect this season. Here are a few of the highlights:

Age/Grade Participation: If you are 12, 13, or 14 years old and in 7th or 8th grade, you MUST play VARSITY football. There is no longer the option for some 7th graders to play J.V. (This should be called the Coach Natello rule). If you are 10 or 11 and in 5th or 6th grade, you MUST play J.V. No longer can some 5th graders play PeeWee.

All-Stars
Northfield moves to the EAST Conference for purposes of All-Stars. They will now be with Linwood and Somers Point (as it should be) for All-Star participation.

Coaches Background Checks
All coaches must be fingerprinted and pass the check - to be on the field

A new requirement by Somers Point City Council is that all youth coaches and volunteers pass a background check. no exceptions. There is a specific check that must be completed. Prior criminal checks are NOT accepted. More Information

Vineland Joins the ACJFL
League expands for second consecutive year

Vineland has been added to the WEST conference of our league. We don't know much about them yet, but they are not on our schedule for 2012. Good luck Vinelad, we look forward to seeing you.

PeeWee Sharks are Champs foor 2011!!!
PeeWee Team Defeats Atlantic City in Triple Overtime to claim the title

The PeeWee Sharks finished the season undefeated by beating the Atlantic City Dolphins in the championship game on the turf in Atlantic City before a huge crowd of supporters! Great job Sharks! ... The future looks bright.
